Qualification Aim


The minimum age for entry to this qualification is 16. The NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew is ideal for anyone who wishes to find employment as airline cabin crew or anyone wishing to enhance their studies in Travel and Tourism. The qualification prepares candidates for entry to airline industry training.

Study Method   
 
The qualification is classroom based and will be delivered by airline industry professionals who have worked as cabin crew and cabin crew trainers within major airlines. During the course you will build a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed by internally and by the awarding body – there is no exam for this qualification.
 
Entry Criteria 
 
Delegates should be aware that as a rule UK based airlines look for the following in relation to cabin crew employment:  
  • Some experience of customer service (desirable)
  • A good level of written English
  • An excellent standard of health which may be subject to medical examination by the airline
  • Height between 5’2 and 6’2" with weight in proportion to height
  • An ability to swim at least 25 metres

This qualification consists of 6 mandatory units:

1.        Working as Cabin Crew

2.        Airline health, safety and security

3.        Aircraft emergency situations

4.        Dealing with passengers on board an aircraft

5.        Cabin Service – selling techniques

6.        Making passenger announcements on board an aircraft

and one additional unit:

7.        Employment rights and responsibilities in the Passenger Transport Sector

To be awarded the NCFE level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew learners are required to successfully complete 6 mandatory units.

About this qualification:

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew has been accredited by the qualifications regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

NCFE is a Component Awarding Body (CAB) for the 14-19 Diploma.

This qualification is supported by the Travel and Tourism Diploma Development Partnership (DDP) as Specialist Learning. Credit transfer:
