Why learn Chinese Mandarin?

Chinese is the most widely used language on Earth. Latest estimates are that over 1.3 billion people might speak Chinese as a first or second language. The most widely used dialect is Mandarin which has over 800 million users, followed a long way behind by Cantonese, Wu and Min with around 70 million each, and then there are further dialects.

This course is designed for those who wish to study Chinese (Mandarin) language to broad the knowledge, achieving up to an advanced level.

The syllabus aims to provide useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials.

As well as encouraging participants to practise the language to help build confidence and develop fluency, the course will also focus on aspects of grammar and writing skills. The actual programme content will be determined by the level, and to some extent the interests of the group as a whole.The course designed for those who want to learn Chinese Mandarin to expand knowledge of the language and culture.

The Chinese Mandarin course are focused on practical functional language. Students are encouraged to practice the target language in a varied option of everyday life topics. The courses focus on the 4 abilities or skills of a learner: writing, reading, listening and speaking. Learning is set in appropriate and realistic setting.Survival 10 hour - Language Courses

1. Greetings

2.Buying items in shops- talk about quantities and prices

3.Order food and drinks- how to read a French-Spanish- BR Portuguese- menu

4.Ask for and understand directions

5.Buying tickets- enquire about departure/arrival times at a station

6.Numbers  0-100  - understanding telling the time
