Introduction
Shipping today is in a period of continuous change. It is driven by investment in new tonnage, development in E-Commerce, rising professional standards at all levels of management, more focus on trade and shipping by governments. Changes in legal environment, such as ISM code will bring greater emphasis in marketing, ship finance, logistics, privatization of sea ports and more focus in Maritime Economics. All these changes demand a new breed of management with highly specialized skills which have a strategic focus.
