The Graduate Diploma in Maritime Management is the highest Award under the ICM Maritime Management Programme.  The Post Graduate level is designed to give individuals knowledge of the major business areas in Maritime Management.

Port Operations and Management

Syllabus (course content):

Introduction to ports and their functions , Legal aspects of port management, Port planning, Port ownership, Finance of port operations, Port equipment, Port management 1, Port management 2, Port security management, Port competition and marketing, Port pricing

Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Syllabus (course content):

Logistics & the Supply Chain , Serving the customer , Value & Logistics Costs, Managing logistics internationally, Managing the lead time frontier, Just-In-Time & Lean thinking, The Agile supply chain, Managing the supply chain, Partnerships in the supply chain, Logistics future challenge  

Lecturing Staff:

Students also benefit from tuition provided by a lecturing staff who have had first-hand experience in the shipping industry. Monitoring and testing of student process and effective counseling on academic matters ensure a continuous high rate of examination success.

The Award:

The Graduate Diploma in Maritime Management (ICM Level 6) is awarded on completion of all Part 1, 2 & 3 subjects

The ICM has articulation arrangements with a wide range of Universities and institutions in the UK and overseas. *Typically, the ICM Graduate Diploma allows entry to postgraduate degree programmes although arrangements for this proposed course have not yet been established.

Entry requirements:

The minimum age for registration is 20.

  • The ICM Advnced Diploma in Maritime Management
  • A suitable BTEC Higher National Diploma
  • Any Shipping/ Maritime qualification equivalent to one of the above
  • Mature candidates with relevant experience in an area of shipping may also be considered.

September, December, March and June.
