It is going through continuous change adapting to changes in the compliance of  legal codes and conventions, with an ever greater focus on environmental care, these all bring new operational and legal challenges for those involved in management. These challenges will have an affect on areas such as marketing, ship finance, logistics, sea ports and the maritime economic situation.  Above all, managers today must be adequately equipped to handle such situations and be able to develop viable strategies to cope with the modern situation, this means they must be properly trained and qualified.
 
The Diploma in Maritime Management is the first of three different levels of Diplomas offered under ICM Maritime Managenment Programme. The Diploma level  is designed to give individuals the underpinning knowledge of Shipping and International trade.

Fast Track in the Business of Shipping and Operations course - £1,599 (6 weeks)

18 months  (Diploma + Advanced Diploma + Graduate Diploma): £6,975 

Each subject in the Maritime Management programme can be studied  individually as a Certificate award: £1,000 (6 months part time)

Introduction to Shipping , The Organization of the Shipping Market, Shipping Market Economics, Supply Demand and Freight Rates, The Four Shipping Markets, Shipping Company Economics, Financing Ships and Shipping Companies, Risk Return and Shipping Company Economics, Seaborne Trade and Transport Systems, The Principles of Maritime Trade, The Transport of Bulk Cargoes, The Transport of Specialized Cargoes, The Transport of General Cargo, The Merchant fleet and Transport Supply, The regulation of the Maritime Industry, Maritime Forecasting and Market Research

Lecturing Staff:

Students also benefit from tuition provided by a lecturing staff who have had first-hand experience in the shipping industry. Monitoring and testing of student process and effective counseling on academic matters ensure a continuous high rate of examination success.

The Award:

A Diploma in Maritime Management is awarded on completion of all Part 1 subjects

Entry requirements

  • One ‘A’ level or equivalent qualification plus 3 GCSE’s or equivalent
  • A relevant ICM Certificate.
  • Any qualifications equivalent to the above
  • Minimum age for registration for this course is 18
  • English Certificate required for international students (min level B1 or equivalent).
